About
What is Elven Crafts?
Elven Crafts is a Helsinki-based platform for master-led craft workshops across the Nordics, plus a chainmail jewellery studio. Two related activities under one brand: a workshop platform that connects groups with named master craftspeople, and a studio that designs and makes chainmail jewellery by hand.
We operate primarily in Helsinki, Espoo, and Copenhagen. Customers come to us for tiimipäivät, polttarit, julefrokost, birthdays, school events, corporate offsites, and creative evenings out. Our chainmail jewellery is sold online and at fairs across Finland.
Meet the masters
Every Elven Crafts workshop is taught by a named master, never an anonymous facilitator. Each master is a working artisan in their own right. Naming them is a deliberate choice: it builds trust, sets expectations, and gives the credit where it belongs.
Maria Sol
Founder · chainmail & bead jewellery
Maria runs the chainmail studio that started Elven Crafts. She designs and weaves chainmail jewellery in Helsinki and teaches both chainmail (ketjupanssaripaja) and bead jewellery (helmikorupaja) workshops. Helsinki and Espoo. Visits Copenhagen on rotation.
Patrik
Chainmail / ringbrynje · Copenhagen
Patrik is the Copenhagen-based chainmail master. He covers København, Frederiksberg, and the wider region for polterabend, julefrokost, and firmaarrangement bookings. Visits Helsinki when group sizes need two masters at once.
Valo R.
Candle making · Helsinki & Espoo
Valo teaches candle making (kynttiläpaja Helsinki) with a particular focus on natural wax and scent blending. Quieter pace, often booked for end-of-year and pre-Christmas workplace events in Tapiola and the city centre.
Our analog photographer
Analog photography · Helsinki
Our analog photography master onboarded in early 2026 for small-group film and pinhole sessions. Profile coming soon with their full name and bio. Available for boutique workshops in Helsinki.
Other crafts on our open-invitation list — ceramics, painting, textile arts, Nordic cooking, glass art, floral wreaths — are served by visiting masters and partner studios while we onboard permanent named masters through 2026. Interested craftspeople can apply via /join.
The two activities, kept separate on purpose
The workshop platform
We curate craft workshops led by named master craftspeople across the Nordics. Customers come to us for team building, hen parties, birthdays, school groups, and corporate events. Each workshop delivers one craft, taught by one master— chosen and matched by us based on the group's size, space, and timing. Beneath the shared Elven Crafts brand, every workshop is the work of a real, named artisan.
If you are looking to book a workshop, run a corporate team event, or organise a birthday or hen party, this is the side you want. City pages with neighborhood proof points: Helsinki, Espoo, Copenhagen. Finnish-language corporate landing: /fi/yritys. Danish: /da/erhverv.
The chainmail studio
The studio is the original craft. Maria Sol designs and weaves chainmail jewellery in Helsinki: necklaces, earrings, bracelets, headpieces. Each piece is made by hand, ring by ring, from start to finish. Pieces are sold online and at occasional fairs and art markets across Finland.
If you want to browse and buy chainmail jewellery, learn the technique through our free weave guides, or come find Maria at an upcoming event, you are in the studio.
Why named masters matter
Most craft workshop platforms hide their teachers behind generic language: "professional artisans", "skilled facilitators", "our team". We don't. Every page on the site names who is teaching, where they work, and what they specialise in. Three reasons:
- Trust. When you book a master-led workshop, you are buying that master's skill and time, not a generic platform service. The booking should reflect that.
- Quality control. Names mean accountability. A master's reputation travels with their work.
- Recognition. Craftspeople do real work. They deserve to be named.
